III Ukrainian festival the musical first nights

Ten theatres were invited. One more festival tradition was introduced. It was called “First evening”, where theatrical companies communicated with one another till dawn. For the first time national printed press announced to the whole country that Taurida had its own Melpomene. It was also stated that festival organizers created real feast for the city and encouraged the citizens that they deserve to meet the best Ukrainian theatres.

The third festival as well as those before was best remembered for it interesting and funny stories. One of them we want to tell you. That was the time when mobile communication wasn’t used in Ukraine. That’s why police walkie-talkies were used by organizers. During the performance the silence was broken by the organizers’ dialogues between each other. Auditorium was wrapped up in silence. Sound producers began to search for the organizers to make them switch off the connection. Meanwhile the actors on stage improvised and couldn’t understand what happened.
